yes, yes, em's bday was the day before christmas but it was so busy and christmassie we never did a cake for the little girl! see, already her bday gets pushed aside and she is only two. so sad. i swear we are going to celebrate nov 24th from now on since we don't celebrate thanksgiving here. i figure that a month before her birthday is better than a month after since we are always so "celebrated out" after christmas.
so... we made her a special cake and ate it in april (only about 4 months late). we chose to do a "in the night garden theme" - her favorite show when she was just turning two. it is my first ever cake experience with fondant icing and it was scarry. my friend made the little figures out of icing (aren't they amazing) and megs and i made the cake. so i was standing there staring at this store bought packet of fondant wondering what on earth to do with it and megi just took over-took charge-and didn't she do a good job. em was very pleased with her little cake, we had a party for 3. maybe we can invite some friends over next year.
